Courtney Elizabeth Smith is a Virginia licensed and nationally certified acupuncturist. She is a recognized diplomate of Acupuncture by the National Commission for the Certification of Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine (NCCAOM) and is certified in Clean Needle Technique. She received her Master’s Degree in Acupuncture from Southwest Acupuncture College in Boulder, CO.
Originally a D.C. native, Courtney first became interested in acupuncture when she sought treatment from a local acupuncturist for anxiety and digestive issues. The breakthrough that she experienced with her mental and physical health as a result of acupuncture led her to further explore Chinese Medicine and complementary medicine in general. She became more interested in yoga and went on to receive her RYT 200 certification in Holistic Yoga from Pure Prana Yoga Studio in Alexandria, VA. She also began working for Chrysalis Chiropractic as a chiropractic assistant in Del Ray, VA where she became even more inspired to pursue a career in alternative medicine.
Courtney believes that an individual’s health and well-being can be better than they have ever imagined and she is committed to helping others to set and achieve their wellness goals based on what is important to them and what they desire in their lives. In her practice, Courtney uses a blend of acupuncture, nutritional therapy and other Chinese Medical modalities to treat a wide variety of conditions.
Outside of the office, Courtney can be found working out at Orangetheory Fitness in Old Town, practicing yoga, walking around Del Ray with her husband or simply enjoying one of the many sights and activities this beautiful area has to offer.
Lisa Borg Anderson is originally from California and is a second generation Chinese herbalist who has been practicing Oriental Medicine since 2007. She is graduate of Southwest Acupuncture College in Albuquerque, NM where she had the opportunity to focus her clinical training in Obstetrics & Gynecology (ObGyn), pediatrics and family medicine. She is Board Certified from the National Commission of Certification for Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine in Oriental Medicine which includes: acupuncture, Chinese herbal medicine, western medicine, Tui-Na (twee-Na) and Chinese food therapy.
Lisa specializes in women's health and fertility, children and hormonal balance. She cares for each client using an integrative approach using traditional Chinese herbs, food therapy to provide patients with a balanced approach to healthcare. She is passionate about education and encourages her patients' to learn and experience all that Traditional Chinese Medicine has to offer.
Through the course of her career, she has also worked as a certified pharmacy technician for over10 years and has long since understood the benefits of combining both western and eastern medicine. As a practitioner, she understands pharmacological and herbal interactions and has provided guidance to patients in the area of herbal therapies, nutritional supplements and food therapy.
She is also a certified Eco-Fertility Coach with the Integrative Fertility Institute focusing on supporting clients in changing their lives and creating healthy habits that prepare families for babies. Clients work on improving their lives in physical, emotional, spiritual and financial health. Supporting clients in this way creates lasting changes to provide greater balance on the path to motherhood.
When not in the office she can be found creating new recipes in the kitchen, at the local trails, building towers with her boys, the park with her dogs or enjoying time with her family.
